sick days...

There is nothing I hate more than being sick. I actually try my best not to get sick, I wash my sheets every week, Lysol wipe down my room once a week, eat healthy, exercise and take vitamins. Unfortunately, there is no fool-proof way to avoid getting sick. Sunday night I went to bed with a sore throat, I assumed I would feel better in the morning, but I was wrong. Monday, after I did my time at the gym, I went to the lovely health center. I excepted to walk away with some salt and Ibuprofen.

As it turns out, I have strep throat... lucky me. I'm sure everyone can agree, that having strep is one of the worst feelings ever. As my Monday progressed, I slowly started to feel worse. By the time I went to bed, I had take all three penicillin pills for the day and though I would start to feel a bit better, I was wrong. I hardly slept last night. Between waking up because it hurt too much to swallow and my lymph notes being so swollen, it did not make for a restful night.

Thankfully I didn't have class all day today so I got to hang around and relax. After taking a long hot shower I started to feel better. Suddenly I realized i missed HIMYM last night! How could I not watch that? So I sat at my desk, with towel in my hair and wrapped around me, painting my nails watching the last episode ever of HIMYM. My nails didn't get too far while I was watching HIMYM. I actually found the last episode a bit disappointing. After nine seasons I was upset to find out that Ted only had a decade with his wife before she passed away. I was upset when Barney and Robin broke up. However the good outweighed the bad in the episode. Ted did go steal the blue horn again for Robin, Barney has a kid, Marshall finally becomes a Judge and Lilly is well, still Lilly.

Maybe it's just a sick April fools joke that the show is over, what are the chances of that happening?

After over an hour of sitting around in my towel, procrastinating studying for an exam I have tomorrow by taking my time doing my nails and plucking my eye brows, I finally got dressed for the day. I am a big believer that on sick days, to still pull yourself together. I think that dressing normally instead of like a bum tricks me into feeling better. Out into the world I went with my white converse, bright blue toothpick jeans that I cuffed, a simple white tank and a nice J Crew navy sweater. I can look good and be comfortable at the same time. After I got back from my study session, I still felt awful, so I curled up at my desk for the rest of the day with some hot tea, my favorite blanked, and hopefully I'll spend the bulk of the rest of my day being productive.

until next time... xoxo J
