With the amount of different types of materials clothes are made out of, how are we supposed to know when and how to wash them? Well here is a little cheat sheet to help...
bras
After about three or four wears you should throw the bra into the wash pile. Remember not to wear the same bra two days in a row. Leave at least 24 hours in between wears to allow the elastic to bounce back from the last wear.

jeans
Jeans can be tricky. In general they should be washed after four or five wears. However, if you are wearing designer jeans, sometimes these can go longer without a washing. When you do wash them, be sure to turn them inside out and let them air dry. Turning the jeans inside out helps protect the color from wearing and air drying them helps maintain the shape.
blazer
Even though the blazer may not be touching your skin and you may not be a sweaty person, they should be washed after about six wears. They may not even need a full washing after six wears, they do tend to hold onto smells so try letting it air out by a nice flow of air. If that does not do the trick then it's time to throw it in the wash or take to a dry cleaner.
chino shorts
These should be washed after about two wears. They tend to wrinkle quickly because of the fabric and spots can be very visible quickly in awkward places. I would also suggest air drying the shorts when done.
pajamas & sheets
Unfortunately, we sweat a lot more in our sleep than we would like to think, especially if we share a bed on a regular basis. You should be changing your pajamas every three nights or so and changing the sheets once a week. After all, we aren't college boys who wait until the end of the semester to change the sheets.
swimsuits
Wash them after every wear! Think of it as underwear, would you wear the same thong two or three days in a row? Simply rinse the suits out with warm water (even when your showering) and throw them in the washer after three wears in a delicates bag. Do not by any means throw them in the dryer!
undies & socks
Please, I hope everyone is washing these after every wear.
athletic gear
Again, I hope after a good sweat, you immediately throw them in the laundry.

sweaters
About every two to three wears depending on the activity level on the days you were wearing them. Put them on a gentle cycle or in a delicates bag and air dry.
